Venice day 2

We started the day by having breakfast at the hotel. The other day when we checked in, the receptionist told us that we didnt have breakfast included! We were rather surprised since that was one important factor when we looked at hotels. But obviously something had gone wrong… 10€/person or 15€/person if you want eggs and yoghurt. What a rip off, we thought. And that was the last time we had breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast we went down to the beach again and in the afternoon we had some gelato before we jumped on the wrong water bus to Venice…

We ended up at the island just above Lido.

Finally got to Venice, and it was absolutely stunning! I was more and more amazed for every step I took.

Nystädat

Det är bra skönt att ha det nystädat! Hels processen varade i åtminståne tre timmar. Nu har vi fyra ikea kassar med byke som ska tvättas… Men i övrigt har sängen rena lakan, golven gländer, balkongen är tom för tomflaskor, ingen disk och inget damm. Skönt!
Ska ladda upp bilder från dag 2 av resan innan jag börjar printa artiklar. Själva Venedig kommer inlägget handla om.

Venice day 1 part 2

We found a crab at the beach

And another, hiding in a seashellThere were plenty of shells to pick at beach, Lido De Venezia. I quite enjoyed strolling around picking seashells and taking pictures. I love the effect in the left upper corner that the water gave!

We took a walk around the neighborhood of our hotel, and found some pretty good places to watch the sunset or have a picnic

I really loved our choice of location. Staying at Lido was perfect as the days were too hot to do anything else besides lying on the beach. In the afternoons we got ready to explore Venice, Murano and Burano.

Next post will be about our first afternoon in Venice.

Venezia day 1 part 1

We got up insanely early, but it didnt matter cause I couldnt seem to get some decent shut eye anyway. I had been counting the months, weeks and days since we booked our trip.

When we landed in Frankfurt we decided to get lost at the huge air-port. A few passport controls and escalators later we finally found our goal, Starbucks! I had a Raspberry White Cheese Cake & a Caramel Cream. Very healthy indeed.

Samuel had a chocolate cake.

Lufthansa was kind enough to give us some chocolate…

Amazing view

As we got our luagge at Marco Polo air-port we immediately bought a 7 day travel card (50€) plus a tour-retour air-port water bus ticket (27€).  This card was very crucial as our hotel is situated on the island Lido De Venezia, and made it possible for us to travel to Venice and the islands close by as much as we wanted to. A lot of money, but well spent!

During our 60min water bus ride we saw some amazing views!

We stayed at Hotel Helvetia. The room was quite small, but it didnt matter! It had a well functioning AirCon, a good bed and bathroom. What more do you need if you’re only gonna sleep there?

Starving as we were, we didnt look further than to the next door restaurant. As we sat down we looked around to see what everyone else were drinking, and decided to go with the flow. Lemon soda, very yummie and is to be found at the local super market Billa for less than 1/3 of the restaurant price…

Pizzaaaas

After having fed the hungry monsters inside us we decided to follow the main street S.M.E down to the beach. It was only a 10min walk to the other side of the island.

Warm sand and a lovely breeze met us at the beach.

Vintage Camera

Jag hade först tänkt vänta med att visa mitt lilla fynd från resan men nu kunde jag inte hålla mig längre! Äntligen, har jag hittat ett halsband med en vintage camera. Och inte var som helst, utan i en vintage butik i Venedig!
I wasnt gonna show you these pictures until later, but I just couldnt wait anymore! I finally found this vintage camera necklace that Ive been looking for, for ages! There it was, in a street of Venice in a vintage store!

Ett evigt packande

Kom hem igår runt 01-tiden. Är rätt sliten efter den långa hemresan, så hittills har jag inte uträttat mycket. Lunchat med brorsan och hans kompisar, som förövrigt har börjat samma skola som jag nu. Konstigt… Annars har jag nog bara kollat på nya sesongen av Svenska Hollywood fruar och hängt på soffan.

Borde ta i tu med att packa upp igen.. Känns väldigt motbjuande, men även nödvändigt eftersom lägenheten i övrigt ser ut som helvetet själv. Senast 1.9 vill jag ordning och reda på vårt lilla neste, för då börjar ett nytt liv hade jag tänkt. Och då måste jag ha ordning och reda! Examensarbetet bör nänmligen börja ta form igen, och för att ha energi till det tänkte jag stiga upp i god tid varje morgon för att ta en powerwalk innan jag beger mig till biblioteket för att skriva fingrarna av mig. Låter det inte väldigt roligt?

Hallo Frankfurt

Hallo, ich bin im Frankfurt und das ist nicht toll. Eller nåt sånt…
Suger att vara påväg hem! Borde landa i sängen omkring ett inatt..
Har nog aldrig förstått mig på det där ”borta bra, men hemma bäst”!? Geniet som kom på det ordspråket bodde antagligen i paradiset då han kom på det! Pessimisten här hej..
Men! Dagens middag var ju utsökt åtminståne (se bilden ovanför).
Kan ni förresten fatta att det haglade här om dagen då det va 35grader!?

Eller hur djävulskt mycke jag vill bo i ett färggrannt hus vid vattnet för en tid!?
